Alexandra Kamaropoulos
Clinical Hypnotherapy
When I was 16 years old; I was diagnosed with a severe pituitary tumour. I was told by a doctor that I would never make it through high school. I did. When I was 18, I began a vigorous course of radiotherapy.
In the 4 years that followed, I became severely ill and depressed. I lived in fear each day; not knowing whether I would live or die. I grieved the loss of the bubbly and ambitious young woman I was and slipped away into a ghost of myself. Along came chronic pain, fatigue, daily anxiety attacks and medical issues that kept spiralling downwards. Perhaps, worst of all was the overwhelming loneliness and hopelessness that I was constantly riddled with.
Everything changed for me one day, when I decided to attend a hypnotherapy class. It was beyond the fact that I found it endlessly interesting. I saw a new way to heal. I began to understand how my illness was necessary in order for me to realise my path. I have new perspective, I have new confidence, and I have a new ability to help others.
I completed my Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy in 2020 and began practicing immediately. I am also a member of the AAHCP.
My specialisations are:
- Mood and personality disorders
- Trauma (medical, childhood, sexual, or otherwise)
- Anxiety and depression
- Addictions
- Emotional wellbeing
My journey was difficult, but it presented me with this most valuable truth: only you can make you better – but do not make the mistake of believing that no one can help you see the way.
